Marina City was used because of its unique appearance and reference to the destination of the trip; Chicago. The three fish reference the Shedd Aquarium and how Thirst was named: 1st, 2nd, 3st.

The 25th Annual Cubs Convention brochure required cohesion with previously established design guidelines and an already printed convention pass.The architecture of Wrigley Field was combined with vintage player photography to create a dynamic layout while still being organized and consistent. This brochure was completed at Petrick Design under the art direction of Ohn Ho.

I was assigned to create a series of brochures that worked cohesively. Chicago Neighborhoods were chosen as a theme, and I specifically focused on creating housing guides. We were encouraged to experiment with form initially, which resulted in the unique triangle flap. Photos of young professionals from each respected neighborhood were the subject for each cover.

Deere


John Deere has weathered the challenges while still remaining the world’s top manufacturer of agricultural and forestry equipment. The report communicates this by combining old and modern typography with dramatic imagery of past and future generations of John Deere consumers.

Post Hardcore band They Found Me, They Named Me required album art for their first release. Chris Geick's unique illustrations were chosen a centerpiece. Rather than destroy the integrity of the illustrations by applying typography, a removable sticker was used to communicate the artist and album title.

Northern Illinois University offers a three week study abroad program in Italy and Spain. Dynamic icons represent frequently asked questions students might have about overseas travel. This website communicates the educational benefits of European travel, while still reflecting how exciting studying abroad can be.

Networking Concept


My senior thesis involved creating a smartphone application concept. Inspired by the next generation of social networking, I decided to create an application that connected people based on common interests and proximity. Multiple interfaces, presentations, and a website were used to communicate my final concept.

A new exhibition group required a memorable identity that avoided common art clichés while referencing the group’s unique location. The corn cob references DeKalb, which is famous for genetically modified corn.

in your Pockets


Chicago duo Caught in your Pockets requested merchandise that reflects their pop-indie qualities. Custom typography was designed using a grid and circular shapes, which aims to communicate their unique yet positive sound.
Brandon Souba is a designer currently working in Chicago, Illinois. In 2009, he completed a 3 month internship at
IA Collaborative where he worked for such clients as
SC Johnson, Nike, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
In 2010, he accepted a full time position at Mcgarrybowen.
He served as president of the AIGA Student Group at Northern Illinois University and is currently a member of
the Society of Typographic Arts.
